AM in the Morning

Don’t you hate it when people say ‘in the morning’ after saying AM?  Even on TV the weather person today said “It’s been going on since about 5AM in the morning”.  That’s what the AM means weather chick!  Ante Meridiem,  which means ‘Before Noon’.  Why does it mean that you ask?  Let’s Google it:  Meridian means ‘Midday’.  And Ante means ‘The money you bet at the start of play in a poker game’.  Wait a second, that Ante part doesn’t seem to fit in.  Let’s try AM in a sentence.  “I AM sure this is infected”.  Huh?  That sounds right but there’s still something wrong.  It’s that A, or Ante part that’s confusing.  Do you think they could be talking about Ante Em from the Wizard of Oz?  Cause I think that tornado hit at about 9AM in the morning.  And I hear Ante Em was a gambler too so… yeah, that must be it.  I guess the point of this whole thing is, I really hate Texas Hold’em.  Outside of Texas it should really be called Texas Hold Them.  Doesn’t make sense anyway cause in Texas you wouldn’t have to hold’em, just point your huge gun at them, they’ll stay still.

NOTE- This was not a commentary pro nor con on guns or gun control.  In fact, one of my closest friends is named Dennis Gunn, but I certainly wouldn’t point him at anyone, especially if he was loaded!
