Reality Bites

I really hate reality TV.  But most of all I hate reality shows where they take a mundane job and turn it into a show.  Like ‘Airline’, or ‘Parking Wars’ (no I’m not making these up), ‘American Pickers’…that’s an actual show filmed in Iowa. I’m really hoping, being from Iowa, that it’s about picking corn because as boring as that sounds it really beats some of the other things that they might be picking in Iowa. I actually don’t care if its corn, I’m just praying it’s not a body part or a scab.  I just looked up a list of reality TV shows and was blown away. There are a thousand of them at least.  ‘Airplane Repo’?  Yes it is exactly what it sounds like.  I’ve never even been CLOSE to having an airplane repossessed.  Another real show:  ‘A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila’.  Who else would it be with, Karla Kahlua?  Maybe Debbie Drambuie? (yes I know, these are too easy. I should stop) Brandy…um…Brandy? (had to throw that one in there)….Genie Martini…ok that’s it.  Do some on your own. It’s fun and easy.  I’m really inclined to believe they don’t even care anymore what the job is, they can make a reality show out of anything-

Next week on Fry Cook: Tabby gets her finger burned in the fryer and Manager Ryan won’t pay workers comp. Tensions escalate between Kevin and Rebecca (slut) over who will get the supervisor spot, Kevin fears he’ll lose his shot with Melody if he doesn’t secure that extra .04 cents per hour …..this is actually starting to sound pretty good to me. I mean, Kevin has worked there longer than Rebecca (slut) so he really deserves the promotion.  And Rebecca (slut) thinks dressing in tight clothes will get her to the top but she is constantly late and uses excuses like “It takes time to pour myself into these pants” and Ryan falls for it every time!  When will Ryan see the light and realize that his stress level is rising all because of Rebecca (slut) and would be lower if he promoted Kevin?

Wow! This is sounding really awesome!  Here I have been yapping about writing a book of short stories all this time and what I really should be doing is starting to become crystal clear. So I’m doing it, I’m applying for a job as a Fry Cook.
