The Pencil

I had an idea of a story to write just now, but then one of the people who is apparently making it their life’s work to remodel my bathroom came out and asked me if I had a pencil. I thought… I haven’t had a pencil in YEARS!  That reminded me of when I was in second grade and Sister Mary Ruth(less) took me and Billy Wall out into the hallway and banged our heads together because we had forgotten our pencils. She said ‘Don’t you boys ever think ahead?’  Well now I have a computer and don’t need a pencil. So maybe I was thinking ahead after all, knowing that one day there would be no need for pencils. Who’s thinking ahead NOW Sister Mary Ruth,  who’s thinking ahead now?…… actually I don’t believe she’s thinking at all considering she was well over 200 years old at that time, but still.
